Valentines Recipes
What better way to spend Valentines Day than to spend it together over a romantic meal. Keep it simple and try and stick to food you and your loved one like and enjoy - your special Valentines meal is probably not the best night to go practising your cooking skills.
It doesn’t all have to be about aphrodisiac foods such as oysters and lobsters, a nice romantic meal is aphrodisiac enough and if it’s well planned (and executed!) you’ll have the rest of the night to do whatever you want - we’ll leave that to your imagination!
You don’t have to venture out and spend a fortune on a meal, here’s some meal suggestions for a romantic Valentines dinner.
Valentines Starters Suggestions
- Salmon
- Mussels
- Stuffed Mushrooms
Valentines Main Course Suggestions
The main course is THE part of your romantic meal that needs to be spot on. Natural aphrodisiacs include garlic, honey, mustard, ginger, asparagus and avocado.
- Steak
- Chicken in Pesto
Valentines Dessert Suggestions
A romantic dessert will complete the meal and we recommend anything with chocolate, strawberries or ice cream. A dessert that can be shared is also a winner, so why not try a chocolate fondue?
- Chocolate Fondue
- Champagne Jelly with Strawberries
Champagne for Valentines Day
Obviously, any Valentines dinner isn’t complete without Champagne which will really round off the meal.
We recommend a nice bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, which will certainly impress your partner and is a very nice drop of champagne indeed!
Veuve Clicquot Champagne is available online from Waitrose Wine and Oddbins.
Happy Valentines Day!
